NEW FOR COLDER MONTHS !

#1. We are going to require at least a 2 night stay for reservations during the COLDER months. This will be from NOVEMBER 1st until MARCH 31st.

#2. Our bed and breakfast is geared around YOUR privacy as well as ours. In other B&B's you might "live" right in the same area as the Innkeepers. In our establishment, you will have a private entrance, breakfast is served in the kitchen that is in the B&B area, you will have a large sitting room area with enclosed porch for your comfort. It is our thought that if you are traveling or here on business, you will want your "own time" and not be involved with the Innkeepers daily coming and going. If you want "that" sort of privacy and comfort, this is the place for you ........ but if you want more interaction with the Innkeepers, you might not like it here. Thank you and we hope to see you soon.

The bright red flower was so stunning along with all the other red and green Christmas decoations.

Look what came into our yard last week (Aug 20th)! He is a totally BLACK squirrel - very unusual for Denison Iowa. Apparently he was looking to find some corn on the table. Do you have BLACK squirrels in your area? I would welcome your comments... info@hartwighouseinn.com

Sock Hop for Knitters

Remember the 'sock hop' when we were young? This sock hop is for knitters ~ we will knit socks, chat, eat and knit more socks. This event will happen this coming fall ~ write to us for information or to put your name on the list. Gather together your knitable (ha) girl friends, sisters or even co-workers and get some cozy socks made for this winter. OR a new Christmas stocking to hang on your bedpost this Christmas. Our feeding area for birds, squirrels, rabbits and even deer. Sit on our wrap-around front porch and watch and listen to the birds at the feeders.
